The Studio by Danielson Designs

I recently had an opportunity to order my own custom sign at The Studio by Danielson Designs . It took me a while to decide on which sign to choose but I decided to go with the adorable Dear Santa Sign.

I was surprised when the sign arrived. I thought that the wording is in vinyl but it isn’t. It is printed onto the plaque which I love! No way for the letters to get pulled or torn like with vinyl.

What I love about the ordering process is that you get to live preview your sign. You add the information you want on your sign and then click “update” and it will give you a live preview.

Below is our live review of the sign I picked:

Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits

August 14, 2009 by admin

Recent games, such as Guitar Hero, give both parents and kids alike a chance to play video games and rock out to their favorite songs, including both today’s popular hits and the classic songs from when we grew up.

Were huge Guitar Hero fans, we have been playing it on the PS2 for years now, so we were all excited to try out the Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits for the Nintendo DS. We all enjoy this game!

I’ve seen friends and family, hesitant to play, end up laughing and trying to keep up with songs by modern artists. I find the Guitar Hero games refreshing for families due to the lack of violence, providing an interactive and fun experience for both friends and parents.

The makers of Guitar Hero introduced Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits for the Nintendo DS system, a follow-up to the On Tour and Decades games previously released. The game features 28 songs, all radio-edits of modern rock hits from bands including Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, Weezer, The Strokes and Wolfmother. Besides being able to take the game on the road, the Nintendo DS has a wireless feature that allows song streaming and multiplayer modes. Imagine all of the kids in the backseat of your car entertaining themselves and challenging each other!

Rock On the Go
With Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits fret board fanatics can once again unleash their inner rock stars anytime, anywhere in single player and multiplayer modes as they hone their shredding skills and jam to face-melting modern rock tracks from the last five years using the DS stylus and the Guitar Hero grip peripheral.

The Guitar Hero Grip
Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits utilizes the same Guitar Hero guitar grip peripheral* used in previous two Guitar Hero games for the Nintendo DS. Simply slide the peripheral into the your DS’ Game Boy Advance slot and you are ready to shred through 28 master tracks of the hottest Modern Rock available, as well as additional tracks from previous On Tour games, which can be streamed in multiplayer modes.

New Playable Character Calista Valenz
Calista Valenz is tough as nails and sweet like candy, with a smile that can melt any man’s heart. Her motto is, “Fake it until you make it,” and she has a habit of telling strangers today is her birthday. Calista once volunteered to spend a week in jail for charity and was put behind bars on a Monday, got bored, and somehow escaped that Tuesday. She spent a month running from the law, even though no one was looking, and hid out at a night club. The rocker pretended to be a lead guitarist, and during her first show, a record promoter told her she was a no talent hack. She smacked him upside the head with a sausage and dumped spaghetti down his pants, all with a smile. He stood up and immediately signed her to a lifetime contract.

Key Features:

  • Unique Portability – Use the innovative Guitar Hero DS guitar grip peripheral and the included pick-stylus to strum the touch-activated screen to rock out on the go.
  • Single Player Mode – Prove your guitar shredding skills while navigating through Career, Quick Play or Guitar Hero modes with new career modes included for Lead Guitar and Bass, or use Practice Mode to nail those tricky solos.
  • Multiplayer Modes – Play Face Off, Pro Face off, Co-op and Guitar Duel together utilizing local wireless play. In addition, more than 80 streamable songs from the entire On Tour catalog are available in multiplayer modes.
  • Unique DS Guitar Duel Functionality – Blow into the DS microphone when the touch screen is set on fire in pyrotechnics, or sign an autograph when requested to by an excited fan.
  • Character Customization – Select from eight characters, including two new rockers making their debut on the DS. Deck them out with stylish threads and hot guitars and set out to rock.

Sprint HTC Snap

Turn a frenzied life into one of organized bliss with the Sprint HTC Snap Smartphone, which makes it easier than ever to stay in contact with life’s most important people. In addition to a full QWERTY keyboard, it features four dedicated One Touch keys to give you quick access to what you use most: Camera, Messaging, Internet, and the new HTC Inner Circle–a clever way to see emails from those who matter most to you in one place, regardless of which email account they were sent to. It also offers the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system, access open personal, corporate and hotspot wireless networks with the integrated Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11b/g), and the blazingly fast speeds of Sprint’s EV-DO Mobile Broadband Network.

I have been using the HTC Snap for two weeks now and I am absolutely in love with it! I have found it so easy to use and love all the features. Of course the only thing I do not like is that there is no scroll button, you have to use the arrow keys to navigate around the pages.

While at Sara Lee Summit I used my Snap to tweet and keep my readers up to date on what was going on. While at BlogHer I ws able to check my email, and Tweet. I even had service way down in the Expo Hall when noone else did!

CitiBlocs

There’s no doubt that kids are spending more and more time connected: social networking, IMing, playing toys that buzz, blink and need AA batteries. When is there time for kids to be kids? Remember when we used to daydream, invent, build and then knock it all down? One new toy company has found a way to transform today’s eKid into a kid off the ole’ block. Introducing CitiBlocs, the next generation of wooden construction pieces that stack up to a block party in the family room.
“From pre-school to elementary school to even architecture students, CitiBlocs are an ideal educational toy,” explains Marjorie Israel Chayette of CitiBlocs, who lives in Paris so combines European design with American ingenuity. “How many toys can you buy that offer reasoning, problem solving, cause and effect, engineering and improvising? These life skills are inherent in the building block experience.”

My family and I are having a lot of fun with CitiBlocs. We have all made fun towers and buildings.

Indeed, there’s no right or wrong way to play with CitiBlocs. Observed by e-tailer GlammaToys.com, “the pleasure of accomplishment and success and discovery is inherent in CitiBloc construction for builders of all ages – kids build outside the box. It’s all connected to the joy of creating all the time. And it’s just plain building fun.”
With kits priced from $14.99 and up, kids can make a castle and then the kingdom. Knock it down for a scary creature or a big wooden blob. Kids need only imagination and gravity to build, stack and create their own fun. Best of all, the precision cut blocks of wood are green, crafted from New Zealand pine. The beautifully simplistic blocks are ideal for solo play or a family fun session with grandparents and siblings. Through play with the blocks, grownups can introduce kids to architecture, history, mathematics and science with memorable results.
“The quality and price of CitiBlocs has convinced me,” continues toy executive Chayette, “that this great concept can be available to everyone – and happily, affordable to anyone. Being familiar with the educational merits of this product, the opportunity for our young company to work with lots of children is really exciting. I hope to make these beautiful wooden blocks a fantastic building phenomenon across the U.S.”
52 Piece Wooden Building Set • $14.99
A basic starter set, these 52 precision cut blocks make this a perfect set for desktop fun or a before-dinner activity. The kit is small enough for traveling but plenty of blocks to build, knock down and build again.
54 Piece Red/Blue Color Wooden Building Set • $16.95
The perfect add on to CitiBloc’s larger natural colored blocks. These 27 red and 27 blue blocks are precision cut and of the highest quality with a safe and non-toxic water-based stain.

100 Piece Wooden Building Set • $27.50
If the beginner set just isn’t enough, consider this introductory set of 100 high quality blocks made from New Zealand pine. Each precision cut building piece can be transformed into a tower, an animal, a widget, a masterpiece!

Currently CitiBlocs are available online at CitiBlocsStore.com and specialty toy etailers. You can also find CitiBlocs on toy shelves at Toys R Us and other national chains.
